Jennifer Landa, M.D. is the Chief Medical Officer of BodyLogicMD and the voice of the 65 doctors that comprise the renowned network of highly-trained physicians specializing in bioidentical hormone therapy. Though she began her career as a gynecologist—practicing in the field for more than ten years—she came to realize that she wanted to offer her patients more and they needed more from her in order to reach their health and quality of life goals. In 2006, she transitioned to the practice of functional medicine, combining her skills as a doctor with her passion for helping her patients find real solutions to their health and wellness needs.
Affectionately known to her patients as Dr. Jen, she dedicates her research and practice to helping men and women restore health and balance to their lives through bioidentical hormone therapy, targeted nutritional supplementation, stress management techniques and strategies for better sleep, balanced nutrition and routine fitness. Jennifer Negrin, M.D. is a board-certified physician at Orlando Vitality and a member of the BodyLogicMD network. She began her career practicing Family Medicine, motivated by her own personal struggles with illness as a child. In fact, if you ask her why she became a doctor, she will tell you that her career choice was all about giving back to the profession that saved her life.
However, after eight years of practice, Dr. Negrin became disenchanted with the focus on disease and the “pill for every ill” mentality plaguing the traditional model of medicine. She longed to step outside the limitations of Big Pharma and the influence of insurance companies to truly help her patients discover real solutions to their health concerns, not just slap a proverbial band-aid on their symptoms. It was her own battle with a thyroid disorder that led her to functional medicine, where she not only found relief but also a new path for her career. Read more about Dr. Negrin.
Karen Weldon, M.D. devotes her medical practice to helping women and men overcome symptoms of hormonal imbalance, using a combination of nutritional guidance, pharmaceutical-grade supplements, and natural bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). Dr. Weldon was trained as an OB/GYN and decided to transition into functional medicine so that she could spend more time with patients and resolve their underlying health issues with a preventive approach, rather than merely treating symptoms.
At BodyLogicMD of Orlando, Dr. Weldon is able to help patients achieve optimal health, even if they are suffering from severe health conditions such as metabolic syndrome, atherosclerosis, vascular dysfunction, and other issues. With his functional medicine practice, Dr. Weldon has discovered that if conditions like hormonal imbalance and other illnesses are caught early enough, they can be reversed with dietary changes and hormone treatments, for significantly improved health.
Susan Compton, MCMSc, PA-C practices preventive and integrative medicine at both the Fort Lauderdale-based practice she shares with her colleague and BodyLogicMD physician Jeffrey Thackrey, M.D., as well as BodyLogicMD of Orlando. She is devoted to helping women and men overcome health challenges associated with aging. Susan helps her patients find relief from symptoms of hormonal imbalance, such as hot flashes, weight gain, fatigue, irritability, mood swings and poor sleep; commonly attributed to perimenopause, menopause, andropause (male menopause), thyroid disorders and adrenal fatigue.
fter spending several years practicing internal/hospital medicine, she decided to advance her education in search of a different approach to achieving wellness. Practicing preventive, functional and anti-aging medicine allows her to do exactly that. She is now able to spend more time with her patients, address their concerns and most importantly, customize their treatment to meet their individual health needs.
Yvette Santana, MCMSc, PA-C practices integrative and preventative medicine at BodyLogicMD of Orlando. She has dedicated herself to help men and women optimize their health and wellness by focusing on keeping healthy habits instead of just reacting to symptoms of aging as they occur.
Yvette was drawn to preventative medicine due to her interests in sexual health, women’s health, and placing a greater emphasis on helping people prevent chronic disease. Now, she can strive to help women and men mitigate the symptoms of menopause and andropause (male menopause).
Aging is a natural process, but the hormonal changes that accompany it can sometimes feel anything but natural. For many men and women over 40, symptoms such as fatigue, weight […]
